# Categories

> Choose the business category of your service

Every service has a **category**. Get the list, then send the `code` when you create the service.

```bash theme={null}
curl https://api.kemypay.com/v1/mobile-money/categories \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer sk_live_YOUR_KEY"
```

```json theme={null}
{
  "success": true,
  "data": [
    { "code": "ecommerce", "name": "E-commerce & retail", "review": "standard" },
    { "code": "food", "name": "Food, restaurants & delivery", "review": "standard" },
    { "code": "dating", "name": "Dating & social apps", "review": "enhanced" }
  ],
  "meta": { "request_id": "a4f8e2c1b3d97056", "timestamp": "2026-10-29T10:00:00+00:00", "mode": "live" }
}
```

* `review: standard`: the usual review.
* `review: enhanced`: our team runs extra checks before approving the service (for example health, donations, dating, marketplaces, financial services). Give a clear description and a live website to speed it up.

## Activities we do not accept

Betting, lotteries and gambling, cryptocurrencies, adult content, weapons, drugs and unlicensed medicines, pyramid schemes. These categories are not listed, and a service created for them is refused.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Store the `code`, not the `name`: codes never change, names may be improved.
